Kuziakina M. The issues of pupil citizenship education within the system of secondary education in Germany.

The dissertation focuses on the complex analysis of philosophical, scientific and pedagogical, social, comparative works which deal with the problem of pupil citizenship education. The main issues of citizenship education in the pedagogical theory and educational practice in Ukraine and Germany are analysed. The history of formation and development of citizenship education in Germany is revealed and its periodization is carried out. Citizenship education as the task of democratic pedagogics of Germany is considered. The characteristic of citizenship education within the system of secondary education in Germany is presented and its structure is defined. The basic problems of citizenship education are systematised. The pupil citizenship education model is characterised and possible prospects of application of German citizenship education ideas in the context of Ukrainian citizenship education are planned.
