In thesis based on archival sources and scientific literature, social and political, economic, cultural and educational conditions are clarified in the development of county school in Left Bank Ukraine, basic directions of educational activity of counties (managerial, financial and economic, educational, pedagogical, methodological) are found out; the system of county education in Left Bank Ukraine is analysed; didactic, organizational and methodological principles and specific activity of county schools are defined; the problems of county education in fiction literature are highlighted; the role and meaning of education activity of counties in Left Bank Ukraine are clarified.
