Essay

The dissertation deals with research of the problem of the phenomenon of self-identity and its role in the philosophy of symbolic interactionism. The work analyses the society influencing on personality forming by means of social activity from the point of view of the representatives of symbolic interactionism. The paper describes different sociological and philosophical theories which influenced on forming of self-conception and the concept of identity and self-identity. The thesis shows the connection and differences between these concepts and terms. The research proves that the representatives of symbolic interactionism consider that self-identity plays the main role in a human being and it is the internal center of a person. The establishing and development of self-identity is determined by the level of individual socialization.
