Object - professional training of preschool teachers in Ukraine at the end of the XIXth and the beginning of the XXth century; aim - on the basis of integral retrospective analysis to find out and systematize theoretical ideas and generalize the experience of teaching staff preparation for aesthetic education of preschool children in educational Institutions of Ukraine at the end of the XIXth and at the beginning of the XXth century with the aim to improve the existing system of preschool education; methods - comparative-historical, system-structural, general scientific, pedagogical retrospective; novelty - the thesis presents the first integral historical-pedagogical research of the problem of preparation of teachers for aesthetic education of preschool children in educational Institutions of Ukraine at the end of the XIXth and at the beginning of the XXth century, theoretical ideas of the educationalists of the period under research concerning prospective teachers' preparation for preschool children aesthetic education are systematized, the major prospects for the creative use of progressive ideas and experience of the past in modern conditions are suggested. Some new and little known archival documents are introduced for scientific study; results - the theoretical ideas concerning preparation of prospective teachers for aesthetic education of preschool children in educational Institutions of Ukraine at the end of the XIXth and at the beginning of the XXth century and conclusions made provide the basis for raising the quality of the present day process of teaching staff training; field - pedagogy
