Denysyuk N. Press in the system of polish opposition movement "Solidarno??" (1980-1989)

The press of the Polish Independent self-governing trade union "Solidarno??" in the 1980s was a qualitatively new and important mass medium, that strongly influenced the Polish society. In the thesis a complex analysis of trade union press edited in 1980-1989 is carried out. In particular: the main periods of its development are defined, the peculiarities of functioning of informational net of "Solidarno??" at different levels are found out, the level of efficiency of the press of the trade union is determined and typological groups are distinguished. The analysis of the press of the "Solidarno??" allowed the author to separate four main periods of its development in 1980-1989 according to the following formula: "the beginning of the formation of trade union press - the stirring up of information activity of trade union structures - underground publishing activity - coming out of hiding, renewal of legal press activity". The specific character of trade union press status consists, firstly, in the fact of its being a part of two systems of mass media simultaneously - state system and the internal system of the trade union. The typological analysis of the press of the "Solidarno??" occupies a special position in the thesis. It was carried out on the basis of such criteria as periodicity of the issue, the territory of circulation, the readers' interests and the status of the trade union in the political structure of society.
