Essay

This scientific research is dedicated to the folk embroidery of Ukrainian Transcarpathia in XIX. and the first half of the XX. century. Three main periods are characterised by development of Ukrainian Transcarpathia embroidery – the first half of the nineteenth century, the second half of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century. Based on source material and theoretical generalizations local and territorial features of embroidery of Ukrainian Transcarpathia are derived. These features usually coincide with selected ethnographic groups of Huzuls, Boyks, Lemkies and Dolynyans of Transcarpathia.
