Essay

The thesis is dedicated to the collective social portrait of generation of Kyiv's priests, who had taken the service after the Church Reform 1860's. On the basis of analysing official biographical information it was defined general trends in formation of the new generation of Kyiv's priests and the main socio-demographic processes in the society of urban clergy. It was identified the internal structure of Kyiv's parish clergy, traced its evolution during the second half of the 19-th century. It was determined signification of service in the eparchy administrative and managerial staff for performance priests' management and career, causes, mechanisms and patterns of movements of priests and appointments to office.
