Object: the organization of the future computer science teachers’ independent cognitive activity in the learning process at high educational establishments ; aim: to prove theoretically and experimentally verify the technology of the organization of the future computer science teachers’ independent cognitive activity under conditions of the use of distant education multimedia elements; methods: the literature review, observation, questionnaire, interview, testing, analysis of the products of independent cognitive activity, pedagogical experiment, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty: the technology of the organization of the future computer science teachers’ independent cognitive activity under conditions of the use of distant education multimedia elements was theoretically proved and checked experimentally up; results: multimedia educational and methodical complexes „Databases and Information Systems”, „Programming. Calculation technique and fundamentals of algorithmic” and „Philosophy”, guidelines for working with them and diagnostic equipment to assess the effectiveness of the organization of independent cognitive activity were developed; field – theory and methodology of professional education
