Golubnicha A. Artistic, pedagogical and social activity of Mihailo Boichuk

The dissertation is an integral research of artistic, pedagogical and social activities of Mihailo Boichuk who was an artist and one of the founders of Ukrainian Academy of Arts. The problem is examined in the context of the cultural and sociopolitical processes which took place in the late XIX - early XX centuries. The process of shaping and evolution of Mihailo Boichuk's outlooks has been researched, his communality has beed proved, the main trends of his artistic, pedagogical and social activities has been examined and systematized on the basis of a wide range of sources, a considerable part of which has been introduced to the scientific use for the first time. The significance of Mihailo Boichuk's artistic, pedagogical and social activity for the cultural development of Ukraine has beed analyzed. The influence of Soviet totalitarian system on the artist's destiny has been traced. The contribution of Mihailo Boichuk to the development of Ukrainian national culture has been researched.
