The thesis is focused on the investigation of the functioning in the texts of Bulgarian writer of the end of the 19th century Aleko Konstantinov the concepts of identity and otherness in context of Bulgarian literature of the 19th century. The work reviews the ways and reasons because of which the Bulgarian literature takes an active part in the forming of national identity and describes this process in the same time, among which the absence of freedom, own independent state and national philosophy.
