Object - professional and pedagogical preparation of future music teacher to music interpretation activity. Purpose - to ground scientifically and approve experimentally the pedagogical terms of formation of professional competence of future music teachers in music interpretation activity. Methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical. Theoretical results and novelty - for the first time pedagogical terms of formation of professional competence of future music teachers in music interpretation activity have been defined, grounded and experimentally approved; the model of formation of professional competence of future music teacher in music interpretation activity on the basic stage of their professional preparation has been grounded, worked out and realized; pedagogical essence of phenomenon "professional competence of future music teacher in music interpretation activity", criteria, indexes of the phenomenon have been defined; the concepts "music interpretation activity", "professional competence of music teacher" have been specified; the methodology of formation of professional competence of future music teachers in music interpretation activity on the stage of their university education has been developed. Practical results - methodical accompaniment of the process of activation of music interpretation activity of students within the limits of elective educational course "Interpretation activity of future music teacher as a factor of enriching of his/her professional competence" has been worked out and approved. Efficiency of introduction is high. Branch - pedagogical, higher educational establishments.
