Essay

The thesis deals with V. Sukhomlynsky's ideas about application of a book as a means of primary schoolchildren education. The genesis of ideas about the educational importance of a children book in the historical and pedagogical process is analysed; the historiography of V. Sukhomlynsky's heritage within the thesis issue is studied. The author was the first to conduct an integral system and structural analysis of Pavlysh secondary school activities aimed at primary schoolchildren education by means of a book in the V. Sukhomlynsky's times; to highlight the pedagogue's expertise of attracting children to a book by means of reading instruction based upon a system approach; to develop a work with a book as a system of components containing objective and rather full information about forms of work with a book in a primary school; to analyze each of these forms; to discover the role of a library in the application of a book with the aim of primary schoolchildren education. V. Sukhomlynsky's creative ideas about application of a book as a means of primary school children education in the activities of a modern Pavlysh I-III levels general secondary school named after V. Sukhomlynsky and V. Sukhomlynsky's Ukrainian College are studied; the authorial system of education work with a book which combines traditional and interactive methods in modern primary school.
