Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the problem of human existence in Vasyl Stus' works in the light of the existential dimension. In this work on the example of Vasyl Stus' works we analyze his philosophical ideas and his world outlook, both of which form an original existential conception, which we regard as a sociocultural representation of Ukrainian mentality; in the research we also analyze the existentials of absurdity, fate, suffering, pain, freedom, borderline situations, irony, happiness, language and time, which allows to determine the perspective of the introduction of the problem of human existence, which is determined by Vasyl Stus' works, to the context of Ukrainian literary-philosophical tradition; the social-philosophical comparative analysis of the works of Vasyl Stus and Albert Camus is carried out. It is ascertained, that common problem of man in Vasul Stys' and Albert Camus' philosophy occupies the seat of honor, and the main prominence is given to the concept of man, which corresponds to the existential type, which determines the perceiving of absurdity of existence, the rebellion against the unjustness of fate, the presence of problem of choice and responsibility.
