The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the socio-political processes in the Transcarpathian Region in 1991-2010. The subject of the scientific analysis is the main tendencies of the regional socio-political development, especially the complications of the struggle for the independence of Ukraine, some characteristic features and regional peculiarities of political life, party structuring of the Transcarpathian society, participation of citizens in election processes, etc. The general analysis of influence of the ethnic factor on the socio-political development of the region, the role of public organizations of national minorities and their participants' activity in political life is thoroughly made.
