Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the study of peculiarities of structural changes of the thyroid gland in experimental streptozotocin induced diabetes, find out anthroposomatometric factors of diabetes type II emergence in adolescence and their connection with ultrasound indices and level of thyroid hormones.Conducted complex morphological investigations on experimental animals with diabetes have shown that there happen considerable changes of structural organization of thyroid gland components which reflect hypofunctional organ state. Ultrasound scanning has determined statistically much larger sizes of thyroid gland in patients with diabetes mellitus type II of boys and girls in general and of various somatotypes than in the corresponding groups of healthy adolescents. The level of thyreotropic hormone and free tetraiodthyronine of the boys and girls with diabetes mellitus of the second type is rather different from the parameters of healthy boys and girls. Received anthroposomatometric parameters illustrate statistically great divergences between boys and girls who are healthy and sick with diabetes mellitus type II in general and of different somatotypes. With the help of anthroposomatometric parameters there have been built discriminant models which allow to divide rather precisely boys and girls into healthy and sick with diabetes mellitus type II.
