Smoliy Y. Folk house painting of Petrykivka in the middle XIX -beginning first third of XX century (genesis, evolution, artistic peculiarities).

The work deals with wall-painting in Petrykivka within the second half of the ninetieth - the first third of the twentieth centuries as an entirely versatile artistic phenomena in Ukrainian folk art, with its origins, forms, the ways of evolution, along with its artistic peculiarities. On the basis of material, archive and literary sources the extend of spreading of the wall-painting in homes in Katerinoslavschina was shown, the peculiarities of its occurrences and its specific artistic character. Much attention is put to the functioning of the local Petrykivka's tradition and the forms of it expression are delineated and it development is traced. The origins of the wall-painting in houses Petrykivka is been ascertained, the painting in ensemble of traditional homes is examined, their specific artistic features are been analyzed. A body of old relics and monuments, which tend to easel painting, are been examined, fac-tors of their developing as well as their specific artistic features.
