Essay

The paper covers the activities of military and civilian doctors and orderlies, who took care of the lives and health of UGA personnel during the Ukrainian-Polish war of 1918-1919 in Eastern Galicia and the struggle for Ukrainian independence in the Upper- Dnieper region in 1919 – 1920. The author clarifies the role of Ukrainian civilian volunteers and charitable organizations in the medical care for wounded and sick soldiers at the front of UGA, in the rear areas under Ukrainian authorities and in the captivity under hostile forces occupation.
