The object: process of development of social education in Slobozhanschina in XIX – at the beginning of XX c.; the purpose: to ground the features of becoming of the system of social education in Slobozhanschina in XIX – at the beginning of the XX c., to find out the tendencies of its democratization and define directions of the use of historical-pedagogical experience for democratization of regional social education of modern Kharkivschina; the methods: analysis of literature, chronologic method, method of division into periods, content-analysis of literary sources and archived materials; synthesis, comparison, generalization, systematization; the novelty: experience is studied and generalized experience of development of social education on Slobozhanschina in XIX – at the beginning of XX c. in the socio-cultural context of industrial society and regional aspect, certainly the stages of becoming of the sys-em of regional social education and his democratization; grounded term „regional social education”; the results: certainly directions of the use of experience past for democratization of regional social education of modern Kharkivschina; the branch – social pedagogics.
