Essay

Object - professional teacher training to gender education of pupils. Purpose: consists in theoretical grounding, development and experimental testing of the model of gender education of a secondary school teacher, specializing in gender education during the organization of scientific and methodical work. Methods - theoretical: analysis, generalizing of scientific literature, specification and schematization; modeling; empirical: questionnaire and interviews with heads of educational institutions; interview, testing, targeted surveillance; educational experiment; statistics. Scientific novelty: The model of development of professional competency of a teacher specializing in gender education of pupils is theoretically reasoned, worked out and tested during organization of scientific-methodical activities of a modern secondary educational institution, pedagogical conditions that provide the effectiveness of this process, the essence and structure of professional competency of a teacher in gender education of students’ is determined; it’s criteria and indexes are separated levels of it’s identification are characterized; notions "competence, professional competence, professional competence of the teacher", the meaning of broad and narrow interpretation of the notion "gender education" are defined. The results of the research can be used in the process of integrating gender mainstreaming in the educational process of modern secondary schools; in the training and retraining of teachers; in their individual activities and in the educational process of higher educational institutions.
