The thesis is devoted to the forming creative skills of the teenagers by means of Ukrainian ethnopedagogics. On the basis of scientific literature and archival sources the actuality of problem and essence of the research subject have been defined. The historiographic analysis of the Ukrainian ethnopedagogical thought development has been carried out and scientific literature has been classified into four groups. The first group contains native ethnopedagogical researches of general theoretical and historical character. To the second group refer the researches of separate aspects of Ukrainian folk pedagogics. The third group contains researches of means of native folk pedagogics and the fourth - ethnopedagogical researches of traditions of national minorities in Ukraine and works of native researchers in folk pedagogics of other countries. As the result of the historical analyses the author identifies and summarizes the dynamics of native ethnopedagogical thought on the problem and distinguishes eight periods of its formation. The author gives the characteristic of psychological, educational and ethnopedagogical aspects of the creative potential of teenagers and identifies the most effective means of forming creative skills in ethnopedagogical system of Ukrainian up-bringing: involving teenagers in the independent labour activity within their families, outdoor games and entertainments, making toys and musical instruments by their hands, playing musical instruments, sewing, embroidering, knitting, making ornaments from natural materials, demonstration of creative achievements in the groups of coevals - clubs for boys and girls, competitions, swimming, diving, verbal and musical folklore, dancing, involving teenagers in folk crafts. The most productive areas of application of Ukrainian ethnopedagogical means in forming creative skills of teenagers in modern training and education practices in the face of global civilization changes are outlined. These areas include development of speech culture, art creativity of teenagers, nature protection, physical training, forming active and creative outlook. It has been defined that today the traditional ways and approaches to the organization of teenagers' creativity, formed in Ukrainian ethnopedagogics in the process of historical development of the society, are being revived. Systemic implementation of ethnopedagogical means aimed at creativity in the education process of secondary schools at the lessons of Ukrainian language and literature, ethnography and history, geography and ecology, music and art, physical education etc. and also in the beyond-the-curriculum activities of the teenagers (centres of creativity, afterschool educational establishments of different types) will harmonize their intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development, form effective creative position, outlook oriented into eternal human values that allows to meet with dignity the challenges of globalized, informatized, urbanized and technogenic world opposing it the essential characteristic of a human being - creativity.
