Object - the process of professional training of specialists in engineering and pedagogical educational institutions; the aim - to find out the influence of implementation of theoretically substantiated and experimentally checked organizational and pedagogical conditions on raising the level of competitive specialist's readiness to professional activity; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the dissertation has been the first one to provide substantiation of organizational and pedagogical conditions facilitating training of competitive specialists in engineering and pedagogical educational institutions; the components of engineer-teacher's competitiveness are singled out; the meaning of the notions "engineering and pedagogical training" as an integrative process of forming in an engineer-teacher certain professional knowledge, skills, habits and personal qualities oriented at their usage in the engineering activity as well as in the teaching work and "competitiveness" as an integral personality quality of prospective engineer-teacher has been specified; results - specific changes have taken place in the content of lectures and practical seminars on pedagogical disciplines, methodological and teaching materials for teachers and students on the problem of the research have been worked out; the theoretical ideas discussed in the research and the conclusions made provide scientific support of the process of competitive specialist's training in engineering and pedagogical specialities; field - pedagogy
