Object - the process of higher educational establishments students vocational training. Purpose - to find out the effectiveness of science-based technology influence on the formation of higher educational establishments students' preparedness to the tutor's activity in distance education. Methods - theoretical, empirical and the methods of mathematical statistics; Originality - the technology of formation of higher educational establishments students' preparedness to the tutor's activity, which is implemented in the motivational and preparatory, informative and activitive, estimational and corrective stages, is developed, theoretically proved and experimentally tested at first in pedagogical science; the test methodology of determination of the level of formation of the defined higher pedagogical educational establishments students' preparedness is developed; the structure of the notion "tutor activity", the content of the structural components of the higher educational establishments students' preparedness to the tutor's activity; criteria (motivative and evaluative, cognitive, operational and active, individual and reflexive) and the indicators of the levels of the formation of higher educational establishments students' preparedness to the tutor's activity are specified; the notions concerning the functional duties of the teacher as the tutor in teaching and learning of students in distance education (didactic, fasylitatsiynyh, organizational, in marketing, consulting, leadership) got further development; results - the technology of formation of higher educational establishments students' preparedness to the tutor's activity in distance education was researched and experimentally tested, it gives the opportunity to implement this technology in field of higher education; in development and implemention of special course "Introduction to tutor activities for students of pedagogical universities of III-IV accreditation levels"; field of science - pedagogics
