The object of research: Orthodox Church in South Ukrainian lands. The aim of research: comprehensive analysis of the economic situation of the Orthodox Church in the Crimea and Northern Tavria late XVIII - mid XIX century. The subjec of research: economic situation of the Orthodox clergy in Tavria in doreformeny period. The methods of research: logical, comparative-historical, historical-typological, problem-chronological, statistical. The results of research and novelty: analyzed the different sources of material support of the Orthodox clergy. The causes of poverty of the majority of representatives of the church hierarchy. Refutation idea, though the Orthodox clergy in the study period is a privileged public estate. The sphere of usage: the further research of the current subject, writing of the synthesis works, manuals, reading of the high school courses on the history of Ukraine.
