Essay

The object of the research: migration of rural population in Kharkov in 1943–1991. The dissertation purpose – on the basis of the complex analysis of achievement of historiography, materials of interview with rural migrants, biographical dates, published documentary sources, study of archival materials and periodic press, dates of All-Union censuses of the population of 1959, 1970, 1979, 1989 to consider migration of rural population in Kharkov in 1943–1991, to look after changes of city population, its national and social structure, housing and household conditions, social-psychological adaptation of rural population in city. Methods: comparison, supervision, generalization, analysis, synthesis, integrity of analogy, historical-comparative, quantitative-statistical, historical-genetic, classification and typologization. Scientific novelty of the dissertation: for the first time in historiography the complex research of migration of rural population in Kharkov is carried out; the factors influencing and continuing to influence on migration processes and formation of ethno-language identity of the Kharkov population are determined; the determining tendencies in changes of city population and its social and national structure are opened. Practical value: the materials and conclusions of the dissertation can be used for expansion of scientific knowledge on a social history of the Soviet period, by development of the normative documents of modern regional migration politics in Ukraine; by development of lecture and special courses on study of local-lore and demography, at a spelling of works on a history of Kharkov, in educational activity. Sphere of use: higher educational institutions.
