Essay

The investigation object is the technological process of beech timbers and furniture component drying. The goal is the determination of impact regularities of timber drying parameters on the quality of the furniture beech components. The methods are the analytical and graphic-analytical ones to define the drying period, theories of heat mass transfer and exchange; physical- mathematical ones to model temperature and moisture margins; randomization, mathematical statistics. The apparatus are the experimental installations and modern drying chambers of periodical activity which have the computer software. The scientific novelty is that the figures of mass exchange coefficients (drying, moisture conductivity, water yielding capacity) and mass exchange criteria (of Nusselt, Pekle, Fur'e, Kirpichova) have been obtained, which gave the possibility to synthesize two physical-mathematical models that is drying speed and convective diffusion in the process of beech timber drying; it has been set that the physical and mathematical model of drying speed gives the base for calculation of the drying period, and the physical and mathematical model of the convective diffusion defines the dependence of mass exchange criteria on the regime parameters of drying process and their influence on drying quality rate; first the estimated criteria equalization which links mass exchange characteristics of drying process with regime parameters have been obtained. The results are that the scientific and methodological grounds of defining the impact laws of timber drying process on the quality of beech furniture components have been developed and justified; theoretical dependences have been specified and done suitable for engineer calculations; the beech characteristics which come to the drying process have been investigated; the normative quality indicators of dried furniture components have been determined; the ways of more rational and effective usage of beech materials by improving the drying technology of timbers and components have been shown. Development stage: the recommendations for implementation of the obtained results at the companies: "ENO Mebli Ltd", "Elit Wood Ltd", "Klen Ltd", "perspektiva Ltd", "Factor-Impeks Ltd" have been developed. The branch is wood processing.
