The research is devoted to the study of morphological and functional changes occurring in the spleen in portal hypertension after ligation of the splenic artery in the background of portal hypertension. With the help of modern methods of morphological studies established trend change taking place in the spleen at different stages of the existence of pathology and its correction, and proved the feasibility of applying the operations, the essence of which is to halt the entry of arterial blood to the spleen for the treatment of portal hypertension
