Malezhyk D. The artistic intelligentsia of the Ukrainian SSR in the postwar period (1945-1953)

The thesis is dedicated to the complex and comprehensive research of Ukrainian artistic intelligentsia in 1945-1953. Based on a big amount of sources, there has been analyzed the main aspects of Ukrainian artistic intelligentsia's condition and activity during the postwar period. The changes of the basic social-demographic indices of Ukrainian artists has been revealed, the features of artistic intelligentsia's social structure has been shown. The process of artists' training has been covered, the influence on it of the Soviet totalitarian regime has been retraced. The main forms of cultural, social-political and state activity of artistic intelligentsia have been researched. The Ukrainian artists' contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and formation of national self-consciousness has been detected.
