The complex research of the global news discourse using the case study of the English-language internet media of USA, United Kingdom, India and Australia has been done. The specifics of the internet as a global phenomenon of the socio-communicative space were defined. There were analyzed the leading media globalization tendencies of the modern informational and communicational society: the processes of commercialization and concentration, integration and glocalization. The concept of the new media convergence was explained though researching the digitalization and mobilization of the online news, the civil journalism instruments involved into its creation. The online news content was studied and the preferences of the English-language internet media's audience were explored. The concept of global news and the key attributes of the global news discourse were defined.
