Essay

The dissertation deals with the problems of the traditional Crimean Tatars costumes' studies in the middle of the 19th. - beginning of the 20th. century. It also touches upon the issues of their artistic and stylistic peculiarities , local specific characters and regional spread of the costume. On the basis of expedition research we managed to classify the typology of the traditional costume of Crimean Tatars. The analysis of artistic methods of the costume creation and its elements, the comparison of local traditional peculiarities have been made. The ethno-specific features which helped to define the types of local specific characteristics have been highlighted. The special peculiarities of the ornamental compositions in various types of Crimean Tatars clothes and the importance of colour harmony in the traditional Crimean Tatars costumes have been revealed.
