Ulchenko I. Differentiation of systemic and nebulіzing glucocorticosteroids application in bronchial asthma exacerbation

Object of the study: 166 patients with bronchial asthma. The aim: to study differentiated use of systemic corticosteroids and nebulizers in the treatment of bronchial asthma (BA) severe exacerbation. Methods: Clinical, functional, laboratory, the quality of life assessment. Theoretical and practical results: for the severe asthma exacerbations treatment is advisable to use the nebulizing budesonide and fluticasone propionate, which in comparison with the oral prednisolone are followed by the same high clinical and functional efficiency, but show the less frequency and severity of adverse reactions and more favorable course of disease in long-term period, including its higher control and the patients better quality of life according to indicators reflecting their psychical state. Novelty: for the first time the use of nebulizing fluticasone propionate is proposed for the severe asthma exacerbations treatment, and for the prediction of intensification treatment by systemic corticosteroids satisfactory or unsatisfactory long-term outcome the formalized model in the form of the system hormone therapy safety calculation is offered. .
