Object: increase of spring bread wheat productive potential's realization by creating of cultivars with high adaptive properties. Aim: studies on adaptive properties of modern cultivars in spring bread wheats, singling out genotypes valuable for breeding and creation of spring bread wheat initial material by means of intraspecific hybridization with high adaptive properties for its further use in breeding institutions under the selection of high yielding cultivars resistant to abiotic factors. Methods: field, laboratory, mathematical-statistical. Novelty: in Ukraine for the first time some peculiarities of a producing process by breeding index method and the nature of economic traits' inheritance are established in modern varieties of spring bread wheat with different genealogical and geographical origin, bilotserkivskyi index is developed that permits to differentiate genotypes at the level of a producing process and to identify promising varieties. The possible use of indices is proved for creating the model of a cultivar and their effectiveness is confirmed under the creation of the new cultivar Simkods myronivska. Results: established peculiarities of producing process and adaptivity in modern varieties of spring bread wheat have provided singling out of the initial material for adaptivity and productivity breeding. The developed bilotserkivskyi index of the ratio of seed weight per ear to the length of second capper internode with a positive correlation with traits of productivity permints to differentiate genotypes on a level of producing process and single out a productive breeding material. The model for spring bread wheat cultivar has been developed for the conditions of the right-bank of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Application stage: a new breeding material developed for short stem productive ability and high productivity has been utilized in spring bread wheat breeding program in Myronivskyi Institute of Wheat nd. a. V. M. Remeslo. The new cultivar of spring bread wheat Simkoda myronivska was sent to State Variety Trial in 2009. Application area: breeding institutions.
