Olexsyn Y. The relations between the state and the church in West Ukraine in the 90s of the XX-XXI centuries.

The importance of the problem of the development of the relations between the state and the church in Ukraine and in the Western Ukraine especially, lies in the necessity of the reliable knowledge about the religious situation in the country, as a social phenomenon, for the state structures, for the whole society to overcome the prejudice, to avert the interconfessional intolerance, the hostility and the religious extremism. The necessity of learning of the theme is very important because it permits to know the place and the role of the various religious organisations in the formation of the civil society in Ukraine, the scales, peculiarities and the prospects in the post-Soviet area, the significance of the foreign religious-missionary centres for modern Ukrainian Christian movement.
