The subject of dissertation is the development of the pottery industry by the example of Kyivo-Meghigirska and Budyansk faience factories in relation to the economic process in Ukraine at the end of ХVIII th-the beginning of ХХ th centuries. On the basis of archive documents and materials for the first time opened to the public the following problems are studied: the resources and raw materials basis, improvement of the technological process, peculiarity of staff training on the faience enterprises, the factories management's work upon diversification and finding the sales market. The comparative analysis of enterprises of different property categories is made.
