Kovalenko L. Sumy' Archives in political, economical and cultural life of Ukrainian society of the late 30-th - early 60-th of the XX-th century

Scientific research is devoted to the history of Sumy' Archival institutions activity in the context of political, economic and cultural processes of the Ukrainian society's development in the period of pre-war, Great Patriotic war period, post war restoration and the "thaw". The determining influence of the socially-political and economic conditions of the late 30-th - early 60-th of the XX-th century on the direction and substance of the Regional Archives activity is proved; the specific character of their work during the Stalin totalitarism, Great Patriotic War and the "thaw" was studied. The problem of relations between Archival institutions and Ukrainian society is analyzed, the peculiarities of Sumy Archives' role in social life under the conditions of the mentioned period are given. The Regional Archive's activity for the society is investigated; it's cultural and historically scientific significance is established.
