The dissertation presents a complete analysis of the development of women's education in Western Ukrainian lands from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th centuries. It presents an overview of existing investigations of the problem in past and present academic research. On the basis of a thorough analysis of legislative and normative educational documents of the period under investigation, the main stages and tendencies of different types of women's educational establishments on Western Ukrainian lands are set out.
