Object - the teaching process in higher vocational educational establishments at the end of XIX- the first half of XX century; aim - to systematize theoretical ideas and generalize the practical experience of students' research activity organization in higher vocational educational establishments of Ukraine (the end of XIX- the first half of XX century) in order to improve the quality of professional training of the present day specialists; methods - general scientific, historical, comparative; novelty - the comprehensive historical-pedagogical research of the problem of students' research activity organization in higher vocational educational establishments at the end of XIX- the first half of XX century in the Ukrainian pedagogical thought at a certain historic period has been carried out; the stages in the evolution of the problem of students' research activity organization in higher vocational educational establishments have been substantiated; the practical experience of students' research activity organization in higher vocational educational establishments within the researched period is generalized; the perspectives for the usage of students' research activity organization efficient experience in higher vocational educational establishments of the researched period are defined; results - the "working teaching programme" of the integrated seminar "students' research activity organization" and the tasks for individual research activities of students doing their master course; field - pedagogy
