Essay

This dissertation is dedicated to the study of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome epizootic situation in farming industries of Ukraine, and to the new disease diagnosis scheme improvement and implementation in current laboratory practice. PRRSV was analyzed in different countries toward comparative epizootic analysis. In Ukraine, we have got new data concerning activator circulation in Ukrainian facilities. There is registered number from 27.4 % up to 68 % of positively reacting pigs. For the first time ever primer system for virus indicating was theoretically grounded and experimentally realized based on genome sequence of agent. Moreover, for the first time diagnostic efficiency of PCR and ELISA was comparatively assessed. In addition, according to this assessment molecular-biologic method was proved as necessary for including in the virus-indicating scheme. During phylogenetic analysis, it was established that PRRSV epizootic isolates on the Ukrainian territory have an expressed genetic homology with the reference strain Lelystadt that is a prototype of European agent's genotype.
