For the first time, an integrated study on the development of the three solid dosage forms, each composed of 0.2 g of Echinaceae purpurea in combination with 0.1 g of succinic acid, was conducted. Based on data obtained in physical and chemical studies as well as in pharmaco-technological and pharmacological ones, there were developed a rational formulation and technologies of coated tablets "Echinayan-active", capsules "Echinayan-caps" and granules in single-dose bags "Echinayan-gran". Suitable procedures for qualitative and quantitative determination of active ingredients in the preparations were developed. Quality indicators of the investigational pharmaceutical preparations were studied, and recommendations on their storage determined. On the basis of pharmacological studies the proposed formulation was proven to be an adaptogenic active and safe.
