Yegorov V. Kostomarov in the formation of ethnocultural basis of the Ukrainian national movement of the XIX century

The thesis is devoted to the research of M. I. Kostomarov's contribution in the formation of the ethnocultural basis of Ukrainian national movement of the XIX century. The peculiarities of M. I. Kostomarov's scientific outlook, ideological roots of M. I. Kostomarov's notion about people as the object of the scientifical study are examined.The main principles of categories and notions used in M. I. Kostomarov's historical and literary works are defined. The complex of M. I. Kostomarov's notions about the authority features and peculiarities, state building and religion of the Ukrainian character in comparison with Russian and Polish peoples is reconstructed. These notions were formed by M. I. Kostomarov's conviction about the historical progress essence as result of public education.
