Essay

The thesis elucidates the issues of growing seeds of fodder beets hybrids produced on the basis of cytoplasmic male sterility with the help of different methods and schemes of proportioning cross-breeding components. It was established that while growing plants left to run to seed, the schemes of 6 rows of male sterile components : 2 rows of pollinators and 8 rows of male sterile components : 2 rows of pollinators create better conditions for seed-setting which ensures the increase of seed productivity accordingly - 0,41 t/ha and 0,34 t/ha comparing with the scheme of component distribution 16:4 (control) with approximately equal germination power. But the energy of germination of seeds produced according to the mentioned above schemes was much higher than the control variant which was predetermined by smaller quantity of degenerative germs and germs with poor development. The possibility of reproducing hybrid beets by using the methods of clonal micro-propagation and by seedlings was established for the first time. The researches proved that hybrids received with the help of this method retain heterosis effect (crop productivity, sugar content, dry matter content). It was experimentally grounded that adding of succinic acid to nutrient medium while growing in vitro makes it possible to increase quantity of axilary buds of sugar and fodder beets.
