Essay

This thesis presents the results of studies of determining of efficiency of selec-tions on the improvement of adaptation potential of reproductive sphere of sugar beet plants and opportunity of using apomictic forms in plant-breeding practice. Basing on a complex study of cytological and cytoembryological study of monogerm popula-tions, self-fertile materials, forms of CMS and maintaining lines of sterility on the background of two stress factors (reduced temperature during seed germination and increased temperature during processes of micro-and macro sporogenesis) individual family selections for microbiological indexes of pollen, its viability, amount of nor-mally developed embryos and seed germination were conducted, the violation in the generative sphere and the propensity to the apomictic method of reproduction were found out.
