Dissertation reveals organizational and pedagogical bases of the activity of the University cultural centers (UCCs) in Poland. In the first part of dissertation terminological system of research of Polish UCCs' activities is outlined and the essence of the basic concepts is revealed. Comparative analysis of pedagogical literature enabled the author to substantiate the definition of the concept of the UCCs as structural subdivisions of universities, the activity of which is aimed at preservation of national culture, formation of students' value orientations, their socialization, shaping of spiritual and physical culture, meaningful organization and internationalization of leisure. The evolution of organizational and pedagogical bases of the activities of Polish UCCs in late 20th - early 21st centuries is traced. Main determinants and factors of UCCs' development are outlined. Among the main determinants the author specifies need for national cultural heritage revival, elimination of the deficit of highly qualified specialists and general access to higher education regardless of social origin, need for implementation of national cultural revival program of the via intensification of the activity of students' amateur teams. Main factors influencing the content and forms of activities of Polish UCCs are as follows: social and political and financial and economic situation in the country, students' social background, the ideology of power, the needs of student youth. Theoretical bases of UCCs' operation are revealed, their organizational and pedagogical bases are formulated. In the second part of the dissertation the author reveals organizational and pedagogical bases of UCCs' activity in legislative, cultural social and pedagogical aspects. Within the legislative aspect the activities of UCCs are regulated by acts of European, national and university levels, the main statements of which reflect the methods of subordination and financing of UCCs' activities; choice of directions and forms of activity of UCCs is influenced by the tendencies of development of education and culture, state needs for the harmonious development of youth and necessity to meet students' needs. In the process of defining the organizational and pedagogical bases in the cultural aspect it was found out that in the context of European integration the activities of UCCs should take into account multicultural nature of European space and take measures to develop polylogue of cultures, prepare young people for life in European community via acquaintance with different cultures, their understanding and acceptance, bringing up tolerance. The author identifies the possibilities of implementation of Polish experience of UCCs activity in Ukraine on European, national and university levels.
