Zhuravel T. The social and pedagogical prevention of HIV infection among inmates of detention facilities for juveniles.

In the thesis factors of vulnerability and HIV risk among prisoners were analyzed; domestic and foreign approaches to the organization and implementation of HIV prevention in penitentiary institutions were characterized; organizational and professional, content and technological provision of HIV prevention in the colonies for young offenders in Ukraine were studied. It is proved that social and pedagogical prevention of HIV will be effective under the following conditions: increased capacities level of specialists in colonies for young offenders on the development and implementation of HIV prevention and formation of safer behavior among inmates; development and implementation of the comprehensive HIV prevention and safer behavior program, based on interactive methods; implementation of multidisciplinary and interagency approach, based on an effective partnership in the colony for young offenders, and between colony and other state and public organizations working in HIV prevention; ensuring active participation of young offenders in developing and implementing prevention programs.
