Peretokin A. "Industrial development of Donetsk-Prydniprovsk region at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century in elucidation of the branch press"

Object of research - industrial development of Donetsk-Prydniprovsk region at the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century. The objective of the research is to study strategy of presentation and define the main problems of formation and development of mining and metallurgical industry in the region on the pages of the Ukrainian branch press at that period. Methods: general scientific, general historical (historical-genetic, historical-comparative, historical-typological, historical-systematic) and special historical (periodization, chronological, problematic-chronological) and statistical. Results - We have defined and studied the periods of the industrial development of the region (1880-1917) in elucidation of the branch press. We have analyzed 850 issues of four professional technical journals which reflected the formation process of Donetsk-Prydniprovsk industrial region. The influence of the editorial boards of the periodical press on consolidation of the efforts of the government representatives, mining manufacturers and the workers of the branch for raising the role of the region has been determined. t For the first time the materials of the private mining journal "Южнорусский горный листок" (1880-1887) - complex source of the economic history of Ukraine of the 1880-s have been put into scientific usage. Scientific technical materials spreading advanced foreign and home experience in mining and metallurgical branches, promoting researches in these branches, encouraging not only industrial development, but also solving of the social problems have been analyzed. The results of the investigation may be used in science and the process of education.
