In historical aspect ideas connected with future problem appear in social Consciousness and are issued in philosophical concepts since ancient times. Particularly, their are found out in axial time period. Proposed ideas are correlated with number of cultural factors (religious, political, esthetic) affecting the interpretation of the picture of future. The essence of problem of the future increases in conditions of modern social system possessing high rate of transformation. Given changes caused by the increased alteration of social processes generate social forms having no analogue in the past. Thus, without thorough analysis and long time forecast modern civilized system may turn to condition of chaos, when all accustomed categories (first of all in axial plane) appear to be and nonfunctional. Causes of forming of futurology as independent direction of modern scientific thought are determined, its methodology, epistemology and axiology are characterized. Expiation of notion "futurological foreseeing" based on methodological analysis of philosophic-logical stages, forms, methodic applied in different branches of foreseeing. The research of influence on mass consciousness of future image presented in utopias and anti-utopia is proposed and also the main characteristics of the future image being formed by modern futurology are found out.
