Kolb N. Greek-Catholic parish clergy in Galicia in the 1890s

Object: Greek Catholic parish clergy in Galicia in the 1890 years as a social group that was marked by a number of features inherent only to it, as well as high levels of public activity. Purpose: To reproduce the most complete picture of the life and work of the Greek Catholic parish clergy in Galicia in the 90 years of the nineteenth century., Find out its social role and function in the context of the tasks of the Ukrainian national movement, the formation of international relations, to find the Church's place in society that underwent modernization changes. Methods: critical, statistical, prosopographic, retrospectives and comparative analysis. Results: for the first time studied Greek Catholic parish clergy as a stratum with its social features and as a participant the socio-political movement, reflects the division of the parish clergy in the category and responsibilities of each of them, the procedure for obtaining the parish, attempt of authorities and politicians to control the actions of priests, ways of creating income and expenses of the family the priest, the priests of association activities and attempts to consolidate the clergy. Scope: to further explore the role of the Greek Catholic Church and clergy in the Ukrainian national political, economic and socio-cultural life, to write summarizing research on political and social history of Ukraine, to develop specialized courses.
