Essay

The dissertation research deals with the determination of the topographoanatomical specific characteristics of the hepatic veins, depending on the variants of the liver position during the perinatal period of ontogenesis. The classical information pertaining to the formation, topography and skeletopy of the hepatic veins, at the stages of the fetal and early neonatal period has been made more specific. Correlations of the morphometric parameters of the hepatic veins, their ratios with the sizes of the hepatic lobes and the fetus on the whole have been investigated and that turns out to be the anatomic basis for evaluating the morphologic maturity of the structures under study.
