Essay

Research was performed on 66 rabbits. Control group was composed from 12 of them, 36 rabbits were imitated adrenalin-induced glaucoma, 18 rabbits were carried out a correction of vascular changes by pentoxifylline. Morphological, electron microscopy, functional, laboratory, injection, x-ray angiographic and statistical methods were used for studying dynamics of morphofunctional and structural changes of eye’s circulatory bed. In this work were established peculiarities of structural and functional organization of vascular system of rabbit’s eye in normal condition and under modeling of experimental ocular hypertension. Notion about mechanism of increasing intraocular pressure was completed, and also it was indicated on possible morphofunctional correlation between structural elements of vascular system of eye under experimental glaucoma with normal and increased intraocular pressure. On the ground of established results was formulated a hypothesis of influence of increased intraocular pressure and combined with it structural reorganization of eye’s circulatory bed on morphofunctional condition of vision under experimental glaucoma. It was shown positive influence of medicamental correction by pentoxifylline on prevention changes in eye’s vessels and its functional consequences.
