For the first time in Ukrainian science presenting information in North American mass media is analyzed in its complexity. The thesis focuses on defining peculiarities of constructing reality on North American television; identifying television melodramatic modes of persuasion; demonstrating the interdependence between television functioning and its personnel; improving the typology of defining factors of presenting information in American mass media; developing the contemporary understanding of objectivity and ways of avoiding constructing reality in journalistic practice; broadening the knowledge of the origins of journalistic objectivity.
