Object - the system of training gymnasts at rhythmic gymnastics; aim - to elaborate the program of optimal development of flexibility in order to prevent traumas and damages musculoskeletal system of gymnasts at stage of preliminary basic training in rhythmic gymnastics; methods: theoretical analysis and synthesis, sociological methods, pedagogical supervision; teaching experiment, the method of expert evaluations; a method of empirical data, methods of mathematical statistics; novelty - it is defined the composition and method of elements performance of the various structural groups with a primary appearance of flexibility, quantitative parameters of the optimal range of active and passive mobility and also the indicators of deficit in active mobility of hip joints and spine at gymnasts of all ages, it is proved the vitality of optimal development of active and passive flexibility on the stage of preliminary basic training in rhythmic gymnastics to eliminate risk factors and prevention of injuries and disorders of the musculoskeletal system; results - the author developed a program of optimum active and passive flexibility in gymnasts at the stage of preliminary basic training to prevent injuries and disorders of musculoskeletal system and the program of evaluation of the total passive mobility of hip joints based on video-computer analysis, which introduced the practice of youth sports school "Galleon", sports club "Nika", team Lviv region of rhythmic gymnastics, in the learning process of students of the Lviv State University of Physical Culture; industry - physical education and sport.
